Studies show that staff lose much of their time on non-value adding tasks, due to a cluttered and unorganised workplace, resulting in looking for things or walking excessively to get what they need.

5S is set of tools to help organise the workplace and make it more efficient.

5S stands for Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, and Sustain. These steps are part of a systematic approach to organising, cleaning, standardising, and sustaining a productive and efficient work environment.

It is a very effective and simple Lean tool that is easy and fast to implement and should be considered the first step in your Lean journey before implementing any other Lean tools.
