Executive alignment to continuous improvement (CI) is one of the most critical inputs to ensure the CI journey in your organisation starts and is sustained to see ongoing improvements. More often we see organisations keen to start their CI journey, however fail to empower and support their team to thrive and sustain CI.

The perception by managers, team leaders and supervisors of the executive team’s aligned commitment to CI is critical to engaging them to take ownership and deliver on strategic goals. If executive teams are seen to be misaligned by others in the organisation, it will be a constant challenge for new strategies and culture to take root and be sustained. A Lean and Continuous Improvement mindset is not simply about tools and methodologies, but historically is founded on a set of organisational values and managerial behaviours.

The executive alignment element engages leaders and key decision makers to introduction to values and behaviours alongside CI and the Lean methodologies. In addition to identifying the critical factors to success the executive team will:

  • Learn about their roles as executive sponsors of improvement projects
  • Gain an appreciation of their role in project selection and what it means to champion the CI strategy
  • Gain knowledge on the purpose of Lean Six Sigma and TPS language, values and behaviours
  • Gain an overview of the PDCA / DMAIC methodology and an introduction to the approach for process analysis

Strategic Policy Deployment:

Strategic policy deployment is about your leadership and key decision makers identifying its key priority objectives and deploying methodologies to achieve them in a strategic fashion. This service breaks down strategies into goals, actions and responsibilities in line with the Hoshin Kanri methodology. It is a top-down approach, whereby goals are selected and set by management and the implementation being performed by employees. This ensures that highest priority projects are selected and senior management objectives are effectively communicated all the way down to the lowest level of the organisation and visually managed through a Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People (SQCDP) Board and Continuous Improvement Centre.

The goal is to have every individual in the organisation engaged and aligned to the goals of the business, often referred to a “True North”.

The PVC, Strategy and the Executive Alignment workshop are ideally completed prior to this workshop, where there is clear understanding of PVC, Strategy and good alignment with the leadership and key decision makers on the CI journey they have/about to embark on. Please note that Strategic Policy Deployment can also be delivered as a standalone workshop
