Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Program

The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Program is a highly interactive and practical learning experience to help you build a high-level skill set in Lean Six Sigma.

The Program comprehensively covers the tools and methodologies to become a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. The Program is designed to get you immediately starting to lead and manage large improvement projects using the Define (D) Measure (M) Analyse (A) Improve (I) Control (C) project management methodology. The program will be facilitated by an industry experienced Lean Six Sigma Qualified Business Transformation Specialist.

The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Program is best suitable for CI Managers and Departmental Managers who are required to lead teams within their department or business units through the process of change using project and change management techniques. Black Belts manage large Continuous Improvement projects supported by Yellow Belts and Green Belts under the guidance of a Master Black Belt.

The Vative Lean Six Sigma Black Belt offers a unique dual certification option, where participants will receive both a Nationally Accredited Qualification as well as an International Certification by the Lean Six Sigma Society of Professionals (LSSSP).

Standard Face-to-Face Program:

14 Days (8:30am – 4:30pm)

If you have completed a Vative Green Belt Program or another recognised Green Belt Program, the duration of the Black Belt Program is 10 days.

The Vative Lean Six Sigma Black Belt program is available as a Public Program as well as an onsite Program at your workplace.

This course has been designed to achieve full competency within an 18-month period. Depending on the capability of the individual to implement a workplace improvement project, the course may be completed within 12 months.

Suitable for

This course is best suited for industry professionals or senior managers who are seeking to expand their skillset in continuous improvement utilising the Six Sigma methodology along with Lean based systems. This course aims to develop industry authorities with an in-depth understanding of tactical and operational know-how in strategic problem solving and process improvement. This course is applicable for professionals in any industry sector who want to elevate their careers as an expert change agent. Black Belts manage large Continuous Improvement (CI) projects supported by Yellow Belts and Green Belts under the guidance of our Master Black Belt.

Certification

All participants will receive a “Certificate of Participation” by Vative Academy to acknowledge that they have completed the workshop.

Certification:

Vative is the only provider in Australia that offers its Black Belt certification program with a nationally accredited Graduate Diploma Qualification in Competitive Systems and Practices – MSS80416.

Our qualifications are also recognised by the Lean Six Sigma Society of Professionals (LSSSP). LSSSP is an international certifying body that conducts certifications in line with Lean and Six Sigma standards developed by Motorola University and later refined through ISO 18404:2015. All participants achieving the qualification will also receive an internationally recognised Six Sigma Black Belt certification through LSSSP.

To successfully complete Vative Academy’s Graduate Diploma of Competitive Systems and Practices (Black Belt), Learners must complete and be deemed competent in 8 elective units of competency.

Prerequisites

Entrants into Vative Academy’s Black Belt course are required to have one or more of the following:

  • Vative’s Graduate Certificate in Competitive Systems and Practices (Green Belt Stream)
  • Vative’s Graduate Certificate in Competitive Systems and Practices (Lean Practitioner Stream)
  • A relevant Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Bachelor Degree qualification
  • A relevant Certificate IV that demonstrates Lean Six Sigma competencies + experience at a team leader/technical specialist role
  • Certified through Vative’s Yellow Belt course + extensive experience at a management or specialist role

This program content is delivered over an intensive 14 days, which includes using process variation simulation activities throughout the program. The 14 days are spread over 6 months across the following training blocks.

Participants are given a comprehensive understanding on how to scope Black Belt level projects to begin the journey of certification. Once the certification option is chosen, participants will leverage the wisdom and support of our  Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt Facilitator over a 12-month period to reach a successful outcome.

Is this course suitable for any industry sector?

Yes. A Lean Six Sigma skill set is not industry specific and can be applied to any process that has waste and variation. Vative has experience in deploying Lean Six Sigma across a variety of sectors with Business Transformation Specialists from various backgrounds and experience to help contexualise the learning and application.

Should I do a Public or Onsite workshop?

The answer to this question is based on how many participants your organisation would like to put into the workshop. If the numbers are 4 – 16, then we can run the workshop at your organisation. If the numbers are less than 4 or you are doing this workshop privately, then we recommend that you attend one of our public workshops. Our required minimum number of participants ensures there is good discussion, sharing of knowledge and the ability to run a simulation exercise.

What type of Certification is offered?

Vative offers a unique dual certification, upon successful completion participants will receive:

  • Graduate Diploma in Competitive Systems and Practices – MSS80316
  • Six Sigma Black Belt international certification by the Lean Six Sigma Society of Professionals (LSSSP)

The Graduate Diploma and International Certification process includes program assessments, a 50-question quiz and an improvement project. The project can be completed within 12 months of the program training.

 

What coaching will I get after the workshop?

8 hours of onsite one-on-one coaching plus unlimited phone and email support is included when participants choose to become a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

What further pathways will this course provide me?

A successful completion of this course can enable you to further specialise your technical expertise into a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt level, which offers an International Certification by LSSSP. The qualification offers a higher education pathway and credits towards a Masters Degree for those who have lifelong learning aspirations to truly master their craft as a professional practitioner in continuous improvement.

Do I have to pay extra for Minitab?

No, a 12 month Minitab license will be included as part of the Black Belt Program price.

What happens if the program is cancelled or postponed?

If the program is canceled or postponed by Vative, all participants will be notified 2 weeks prior to the date and offered a full reimbursement or an opportunity to attend another scheduled program date.

If the participant would like to cancel, they must provide Vative notice in writing 2 weeks prior to the date of the program. If the cancellation is done less than 2 weeks prior to the program, a 10% of program fee will apply. If the cancellation is done less than 48 hours prior to program commencement, a 50% of program fee will apply.

What if participants have low levels of Language and literacy comprehension?

Our facilitators are trained to adapt training and assessment to suit the needs of individuals whereby assessments can be adjusted to suit different levels of language and literacy.
